| Meryl Streep is Karen Silkwood, a young divorced woman who works in a plutonium plant in a small Oklahoma town. Doing her job, punching the clock and living for the weekend all changes when she becomes contaminated with the deadly plutonium. She courageously speaks out about the safety hazards at the plant and loses her job status as a result along with many friends and ultimately her life. Cher plays her roommate and co-worker. |
